✦ Opportunity Class (OC) Placement Test ✦

The Opportunity Class Placement Test is the entrance exam allowing a small percentage of children

to enrol in unique 'Opportunity Classes'. These classes specifically cater for the needs of highly achieving Year 5 and Year 6 students who are academically gifted.

✦ Test Components ✦

The Opportunity Class Placement Test

(Time Limit: 1 hr working)

  • Part 1 – 35 Questions (30 minutes)
  • Part 2 – 35 Questions (30 minutes)

  • English
  • Maths
  • General Ability

✦ Test Preparation ✦

In our experience, students do have to receive some form training to have the required skills and discipline for the OC Test. Furthermore, the content assessed is far more challenging than what most schools cover.

If you are considering whether your child should sit the OC Test or participate in any test preparation program, it is advisable to assess your child’s maturity level first to see if he or she is ready to deal with the pressure and stress associated with such a challenge.

✦ What Makes OC Test Training At MSL ✦
Different?

COMPREHENSIVE
TRAINING

Our Intensive Training Program builds students from the ground up to cover all the skills required for the OC Test. It is well-structured to ensure that all students, first and foremost, build a strong foundation. We find that this is an essential element that many students lack.

We can then train them to build on this foundation by developing higher level skills and speed as they learn to solve challenging problems.

LEARN FAST

Are you unsure if your child has what it takes to do well in the OC Test?

Are you worried that he or she has fallen too far behind?

To achieve success, students must have the right skills. We understand the value of developing such skills fast and therefore we make it our goal to help students learn fast by training them the right way.

Critical thinking
skills

The difficult part of Maths is not learning fractions or algebra. Instead, students must focus on developing essential analytical and critical thinking skills to succeed in these tests.

Therefore, rather than spoon-feeding students content on the whiteboard, we train them to independently analyse a problem, extract relevant information and apply their knowledge to solve it methodically.
